Yes — AVIF typically produces the smallest files of the three at the same visual quality, sometimes half the size of JPG.
Which browsers can display AVIF?
Chrome, Edge, Firefox and newer Safari all support AVIF. For maximum compatibility, serve a JPG/WebP fallback.
Why did my AVIF conversion fail?
AVIF encoding requires a Chromium-based browser. Safari and older Firefox versions cannot encode AVIF and will show a per-file error.
