What is a YouTube thumbnail downloader?
It grabs the preview image YouTube generates for any public video so you can save it as a JPG. This tool builds the image URL directly from the video ID — no server, no API key, no upload.
Which qualities are available?
Four standard YouTube sizes: Max Resolution (maxresdefault, up to 1280×720), High (hqdefault, 480×360), Medium (mqdefault, 320×180), and Standard (default, 120×90). Not every video has a maxres image; if it's missing we fall back to high quality.
Is it free and private?
Yes. Everything runs in your browser. The thumbnail is served by YouTube's own image CDN, so the image never touches our servers.
Can I use the thumbnail commercially?
Thumbnails are owned by the original video creator. Reuse them only if you have rights or the content is licensed for reuse (e.g., Creative Commons).
